  • Company: Unilever

Unilever was established over 100 years ago; we are one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies. We are known for our great brands, a global footprint, and our belief in doing business the right way. We’re driven by our purpose: to make sustainable living commonplace.

Martin leads sustainable sourcing at Unilever with a focus on tropical commodities such as palm and coconut. He is also leading Unilever’s commitments and goals to protect and regenerate nature, including our commitment to a zero-deforestation supply chain across palm oil, paper and pulp, soy, tea and cocoa and the implementation of requirements for suppliers in our cross-commodity policy for people and nature.

Martin joined Unilever in Durban, South Africa in 1997, initially in supply chain then working in several leadership roles in the transformation of Unilever procurement across Africa, Middle East and Turkey. He was posted to Singapore in 2010 where he undertook the leadership of a diverse portfolio ranging from regional tea procurement to developing new business models and sustainable agriculture-based supply chains in India, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Myanmar. Before his current position, Martin served as Global Procurement Director, Commodities for Unilever based out of Switzerland.
