Leena Ghosh

Leena is responsible for leading and ensuring the development and interpretation of RSPO standards specifically in the area of human rights, labour standards and social challenges. Her role encompasses being the external focal point in matters relating to human rights and social standards for the RSPO and to provide advice of strategic and policy significance to the organisation.

She was a practising lawyer and has been admitted in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Malaysia. She worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross Regional Office in Kuala Lumpur as their Assistant for Multilateral Affairs in Asia. She was the Head of Unit for the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) for almost seven years. Prior to joining the RSPO, she was an independent consultant working in Myanmar as Senior Peace Advisor and Senior Legal Advisor. She has a LLM from Exeter University, U.K., as well as an M.A. on the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the University of Essex, U.K. She is qualified as a Sustainability Reporting Practitioner.
