Matthew is Global Director for Climate and Nature at IDH, leading a team that supports the development of nature-positive, low-carbon, and climate-resilient agriculture. IDH has a long track record of convening value chain collaboration and landscape partnerships to secure deforestation-free supply chains and better farmer incomes with partners from the private sector and farmers’ organizations. Matthew’s team also supports SourceUp, the independent reporting platform and learning network for landscape and jurisdictional initiatives.

A Visiting Fellow at the Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI), he writes and speaks regularly on tropical forest protection and the role of agriculture in nature protection and climate action. Matthew has 30 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, and has held senior roles at Oxfam, the Green Alliance, and the Carbon Trust.
