Thijs Pasmans serves as Interim Assurance Manager Europe at the RSPO and has over 12 years of experience in sustainability policy development, due diligence regulations, and certification systems, with a particular focus on palm oil. Since 2019, he runs his own sustainability consultancy, supporting organisations on responsible supply chains, certification and stakeholder engagement. Throughout his career, Thijs has held roles at MVO – Netherlands Oils and Fats Industry, the Amsterdam Declarations Partnership (ADP) and IUCN NL. He has written and contributed to studies and reports for organisations including RSPO and IUCN, supported the development of Remediation and Compensation Plans for oil palm growers and organised government-to-government dialogues and international conferences as part of the ADP secretariat. During SPOD, Thijs is also available to answer questions related to RSPO assurance systems and processes.
